The futurity is for two- and three-year-old ranch type horses of any non-gaited breed whether registered or grade. The competition is divided into a two-year old division comprised of a rail class and a trail class, and the three-year old division is comprised of a Ranchmanship pattern class and a boxing class in which the horse and rider work one cow in the arena.
